ATV Division
National Public Safety has formed a highly specialized Off-Road Enforcement Team to enforce illegal off-highway vehicle activity, support larger scale events such as the San Diego County Fair and Coachella Stage Coach Music festivals. The team’s mission is to enhance the safety and security of residents and visitors through citizen contacts, warnings, and citations.
Each team member has completed an extensive training course in off-road enforcement. The team is currently equipped with 4 x 4 vehicles, as well as Rhinos, Quads and motorcycles. This equipment affords us the opportunity to access areas that are un-accessible to regular patrol vehicles.
The Off-Road Enforcement Team supports the Mounted Unit and works closely with Law Enforcement in crowd control and rural patrol situations.
Mobile Command Center
National Public Safety’s Mobile Command and Communications Center was designed in-house, following disastrous wildland fires in 2007, when the owner identified the need for a mobile command and communications unit for large or protracted events. The vehicle was designed for operation under the Incident Management System (formerly called Incident Command System, or ICS), and provides air conditioned work space for command staff, and communications operators. Outside additional protected workspace is available under a roll up awning. A WiFi internet system is available for use by authorized associated agencies assigned to the event.
Mobile Command's first full mission was the multi week Coachella Stage Coach Music festival. The unit provided command, control and communications for National Public Safety units involved in the event and other associated Law Enforcement agencies along with event coordinators.
The command staff area provides workspace for the Incident Commander and his immediate staff. Maps, a copier, fax, computer, telephone service, WiFi, internet, office supplies and status boards are all available for the staff. A television, VCR and AM/FM receiver provide the ability to monitor local radio and television stations, or the ability to play and record surveillance/reconnaissance video. A small refrigerator is also located here, along with storage space for supplies and even blankets and pillows in the event of a protracted event. A fold-over telescoping antenna tower is mounted on the roof. A combination of roof mounted and tower mounted antennas are used.
The command center was designed to provide communications on a wide scale of responses, from the San Diego County Fair, Coachella Stage Coach Music festivals and other large scale special events.
